Another bright J.J Graves story from Liliana Hart. I read book 4.v in the series several years ago and then I quite forgot about the series while waiting for book five. It was nice to pick upward the thread again. I really like Harts writing where you lot get this warm, fuzzy feeling and even though the book nearly murder, death and human eating cats, there is likewise an aura of a feel skilful book at the same time. More often than not because I beloved JJ and Jack. Their human relationship is and so well written, it feels natural and realistic and it is piece of cake to connect with. This time the book also has the feel of a mix betwixt "desperate housewives" and "Midsomer Murders". Such a fun story and plot to follow.
The conclusion in the finish was still somewhat rushed and rich in details. It was a little hard to keep upwards with it to understand who the killer was and the why'due south. Information technology also ended on a major cliffhanger and we however oasis't received the whole truth around JJ'southward dead parents. In that location is simply so many loose threads floats around and it is time to knot some of them and be washed with it. It is fourth dimension to reveal those secrets.

Oh how I have missed J.J., Jack and the town of Bloody Mary! This is a story that will not get out my listen for a long fourth dimension because... well a dead body had been eaten past cats!! BLOOD EVERYWHERE!! The visual alone is plenty to keep me from always owning cats. I mean ... UCK!It's been a year or two since we accept had a new book set in this would and it took me right dorsum to the identify that I loved so much. Muddy Laundry wasn't quite as scary or intense as the I call back the prior novels being, peradventure because the killer wasn't after J.J. this fourth dimension and we weren't constantly looking over our shoulders.
I volition tell yous that the ending, the reveal of the who washed it, blew my mind! I thought I knew just WOW I was so impressed with Liliana's execution of delivering u.s.a. the killer that I never saw coming. At least I wasn't solitary, the rest of the people in the neighborhood didn't meet information technology coming either.
In Dirty Laundry Jack and JJ are back from honeymoon and allow me tell you just because they are married and back home doesn't mean that this couple is done having intimate moments... fifty-fifty in the back of police force cars in the dead of the nighttime. I dearest seeing their passion for each other and for their friends, and how they all have each others back. You know... everyone except Jaye'southward pesky father who seems to popular at the worst times!
Dirty Laundry and the rest of the J.J. Graves Mystery series are highly recommended by me, Liliana was one of the first romantic suspense authors that I couldn't get plenty of!!

Thus far, I have e'er enjoyed these books. I will admit though that the victim's fate may accept scarred me for life. The vivid description of what her cats did to her, followed by more gruesome details about maggots, really isn't for the faint of centre. I always loved cats, but now I am glad I have a dog. While I nevertheless enjoyed Dirty Laundry, at that place were some things that really annoyed me. To a certain degree that is predictability, every bit I guessed right from the Become go what the murder victims undercover was. But, there is actually a very specific scene, where the book sort of lost me.
Subsequently finding the victim, talking to the neighbors and performing the autopsy, Jaye and Jack go set up to draw upwards their murder board. In the first 45% of the book, which according to my Kindle was the current position, this was all that happened. And then in this scene Liliana Hart starts throwing names and findings at you, because Jack and Jaye not only summarize their findings, just those of the other police officers as well. For the first time in a crime novel, I wished that they had really included that murder lath, because I was starting to mix up characters. Considering I already knew the murder victims secret, I got two out of 3 correct (though that was more than of a gut feeling than bodily deduction). But when the mentioned the culprit by name, my first reaction was "Who?". And then Liliana Hart includes some tidbit about the culprit's occupation and the low-cal finally went on.
While they do the murder board, Jaye and Jack suddenly start fighting, because Jaye got her prescription for contraceptives from a veterinarian, whom Jack recently put away because that is of course a crime. This fight seemed and then random. And unfortunately that wasn't the simply randomness. The most noticeable was people changing their sexual inclinations seemingly at random. The volume just wasn't also crafted equally the residual.
Point in case: I don't know if this is but truthful for the Kindle version, but the epilogue is actually after the preview of another volume (so keep on reading).
And this epilogue merely confirmed some other scene that made very little sense to me. At 1 indicate, Jaye meets her begetter, Malachi, once more. He asks her well-nigh the missing drives, and she tells him that they had given them to someone else. Malachi concludes that they must accept given them to some kind of estimator specialist and then leaves. Not fifty-fifty a few chapters afterwards, Jack and Jaye call said reckoner specialist, Ben Carver, not only nigh his findings on the drives, simply to help with the case. They must have known that Malachi would practise some kind of surveillance on them to find the identity of their specialist. Past calling him they put Ben in danger. The only way to act more irresponsible and stupid under the circumstances, would have been to hang a banner over Ben's caput, while he was waiting on their porch, saying "Hey Dad! This the guy we gave the drives to that you so badly seek. Have at him."
In summary, the book wasn't bad, just in serious need of editing.
...more thanIt'due south not nice when a book ends with a bewilderment, so I'chiliad very glad I waited long plenty that now the side by side one is already out. Malachi Graves creeps me out! Him showing upward all the time and threatening Jaye is really annoying. I hope he shortly bites the dust - ane fashion or another. He tries to come across similar a loving father but his deportment speak otherwise. Hopefully this mess is solved with the side by side book. Give him his damn flash drives and be rid of him already!
At present, the murder story was really nicely done - I had some suspicions about the motive (at least for Rosie and I was right) only I had no idea who could accept done information technology. But it was really satisfying. This was a scrap like watching an entertaining crime show, very low-cal and a scrap amusing and not like the other books before and I really liked it. Now I just hope Ben is going to be okay then I'k going to download the side by side volume.

It's been awhile since I read the concluding book, so it took me a few minutes to refresh my memory about the recently married couple, Jaye and Jack. Jack is the local sheriff and an outstanding volume hero. They are a couple in love and together they solve cases.
This time they are looking for the murderer of an 85-year old lady that was well-liked by the community. All her neighbors have secrets and those secrets and her own led to her death. Off-white warning, the crime scene is very descriptive and gross. I had to skip a couple of pages, as I just couldn't read all the icky details.
I of the best supporting bandage characters in all books is Jack's friend, Ben. I am certain at the delight of numerous readers, like myself, Ben is back with his Miranda.
The current case they are working on comes to a conclusion, but the on-going saga involving Jaye's father is actually heating upward and thus the book ends as a Cliffhanger. ...more

Why would anyone murder the sweetness, old lady who bakes goodies for everyone and has cats? Listen you, remember cats might love yous while you're live, simply they really love you once you're dead. Eww. Jaye and her hot hubby, the sheriff, Jack take their hands total with this case.
